A mix media project for school. We were supposed to convey a message through artwork. Mine was about human ignorance; try guessing all the other messages I threw in... with what's pictured, and the title....

Self-Potrait 2 自画像2

This is a self-potrait I drew for a project at school. Now that I look at it I see so many mistakes and areas I can do better on... It sure does not look like me...

Kid Violinist 子供バイオリニスト

My brother also modeled for me in this picture. A violinist is so hard to draw! Not only the arms move when a violinist plays, but they also swerve and rock back and forth to maintain balance when they are standing. He also stopped often to move his music or otherwise. In the end I decided to stop trying and just watch for a while, then take some photos to draw details out of. This is what is the composite of several photographs and my unreliable memory. The boy does not really look like my brother, because I stink at people's faces.

これも弟がモデルになってくれました。バイオリニストって描きにくい！腕が動くだけではなく、立っている間はバランスを保つため前後に体を大きく揺らす。しかも弟は楽譜を動かすなどのためによく止まる。仕方なくあきらめてしばらく弾いている様子を眺めてから写真を撮ってみました。この絵はその写真や私の頼りない記憶をあわせた物です。人の顔は苦手で、弟にあまり似てない．．．
